Way back on August 13, 2015 — we know, we know, we have a lot of catching up to do, as we mentioned before — Dermot turned 1. He had a Dr. Seuss-themed birthday, complete with lots of great decorations, a scrumptious cake (thanks, Auntie!), Lorax and green eggs and ham treats, and lots and lots of presents from his generous friends and family!
Oh, and Dermot quite enjoyed his smash cake, as the below video will attest!
It’s been over a year since we’ve last posted, so for those of you who check the blog for your Dermot updates… we’re sorry!
We have quite a lot of catching up to do. Dermot has started walking, talking, and otherwise acting like the toddler that he is instead of the baby that he was. We have photos and videos of most of it (if not all of it), and we’ll plan to share them here, we swear!
We’ve also been lucky enough to welcome two new members into our family, and while Dermot’s younger brother Emmet is no longer with us, Dermot and Emmet’s younger brother Finn is almost a month old, and is fighting every day to be able to eventually come home with Mom, Dad and Dermot. (Please see the Emmet and Finn blog if you’d like periodic updates about Finn’s progress.)
So… we have plenty of updating to do. And we will try to chip away at the backlog with posts over the coming weeks. In the meantime, please enjoy a few pictures from Dermot’s Sesame Street-themed birthday party, as our big guy turned 2 on Saturday, August 13!
Plenty more pictures and updates to come, but just wanted to share with everyone that Dermot had a great 1st birthday! His cousin Colin slept over, but not before helping Dermot play his new game during a birthday dinner out at Bertucci’s.
Since Dermot will be 11 months old in a few days we figured it was time for a quick 10 month update! His personality is emerging and changing as he becomes more independent. He still has no teeth, but boy does he munch on anything you will give him. Cheerios are a new favorite. He is rolling and scooting all over the place. He is weighing in at 22 lbs 2.2 oz. I think the pictures below explain our (not so) little guy.
Had to move my tubby into the real tub because I’m so big and splash so much!
Dad assembled my Exersaucer this week. My cousins call it my “office”. I think I’m going to like it in here eventually but right now I am not sure!
Still not sure. Maybe a little over-stimulated?
I had my first boys only sleepover with my cousin Colin. Neither one of us would smile nice for Mama. Colin showed me his super heroes and explained all the characters in the Batman show to me!
Dermot was very lucky to have so many family and friends present to celebrate his baptism. A big thanks to Poppy for catering and Auntie Tina for making my cake!
“What’s that the priest is saying?”
“Okay, they can pour water on my head.”
